Self Inflicted Wounds

by Jerry Wright

Sad isn't it, that the worst casualties this War has created are self-inflicted, both at home and abroad. However, I didn't bring you all here to talk about the war... Too much of that already.

So... You've seen our site redesign. We're not done yet, but the basics are here. We tossed around the idea of killing the frame, but I don't care for text that spills across the screen, and I like the ability to quickly jump from one item to the next. So there.

I've wanted to have a "cover" to hi-light our writers and artists, and this new format gives us that capability, without removing the pseudomonthly personality that Spud created. We can only display 4 at a time, so if you weren't on this issue's cover, you probably will be in the future.

We're proud of our writers and pleased to be able to provide a home for the aspiring, and the accomplished. And now, we've even been asked to review books, both short story collections and complete novels. Why? Because, oddly enough, people read this rag.

We hope you like the changes, and also again put out a request for more fantasy and SF. We're pleased that a number of talented writers of horror and dark fiction have chosen our pages for their oeuvre, but remember, for the most part we try to be a PG or at worst PG-13 kinda magazine. Don has rewritten the "Submissions guidelines", so check it out to see what we're looking for.

We don't want to shoot ourselves in the foot, so tell us what you think.
