I’ve had the good fortune to meet James J. O’Donnell twice. First, in Philadelphia, in 1990, when he was a Professor of Classics at Penn; and again in Washington, D.C., in the summer of 2010, when he was Provost at Georgetown University.
Professor O’Donnell kindly had lunch with Professor Dana Paramskas and me and took us on a tour of the campus, during which he showed us the plaque commemorating Dana’s mother, Nathalie Paramskas, the first Director of Women’s Athletics at Georgetown.
