...Makes the World Go 'Round

by Jerry Wright

What does? Well, of course "Money, money, money by the pound".

I'm sure you noticed the little "Donate to BWS" button on the menu page. Don and I had talked about it, but I didn't say, "Wal, podner, gonna do it." I just did it, and it kinda shocked ol' Don. Money changes everything. Don wants everyone to be comfortable with the whole thing, and know what we plan on doing with this filthy lucre, etc.

Primarily, we want to be able to pay something to our authors. Some of the work we get is very, very fine, and the quality keeps going up. We've put out a little money over the last year for advertising, etc, and it has borne fruit in the acquiring of new readers and writers, but we'd like to do more. We are still a bit "provincial" in that there are several billion people who don't have a clue we exist. And we want to do something about that. So we're working on it.

We're thinking about taking in advertising revenue, but frankly, if it isn't done right, it will tarnish BWS. And we don't want that. We now have standards. How odd.

Again, we're working on site designs to make the site more, um, "userfriendly" and frankly "webcrawler friendly". Many robot webcrawlers still don't like frames. So we work on it. Like we know what we're doing... Hah.

Couple of little side notes. Both Steve Shrewsbury and Eric S. Brown have new books coming out, and they have sent us blurbs. So hey. Steve has contributed several stories, and of course, Eric is one of our more faithful authors, so without further ado:

From Steven:
My MAJESTIC Agent Thor Alexander is appearing is the paperback release SCARY-HOLIDAY TALES TO MAKE YOU SCREAM in a story for Veteran's Day called "LOCKED AND LOADED". This can be ordered at the url: http://double-dragon-ebooks.com/super.html#scary Take Note: This tale is a reflection on personal horrors and thus, not for all audiences. The PC or the sensitive should look away.

My tale of senior citizen revenge CASANOVA'S LAST CONQUEST appears in the print mag NOSTALGIA and I am happy to see it on my desk.

From Eric:
Dear Don, Jerry, and the BWS gang,
I just wanted to let you know that DYING DAYS has now been released and is available from Barnes and Noble as well as www.silverlakepublishing.com

I would be grateful if you would consider checking it out or giving it a mention at BWS. Thanks and hope you had a great Halloween.

Eric S. Brown

And so we surprise the bejabers out of our Mr. Brown. Bwa ha ha ha....
