Carnival

by Thomas R.

Come join the celebration
The pageant of ten worlds’ dreams
Wild festival of all the worlds’ nations
Giving birth to one's most foolish schemes

Wish to destroy a moon?
Do so as you will
For today all act crazy as the loon
Revelling in sin to their fill

There is gambling, lust, and gorging
Nothing strange seems gross
No contempt even forging
What the courts need the most

Yet remember as always
That all revelry can have a horrid price
For pleasure may be the order on these early days
But in the latter days you shall die for such vice
