Paul adds to our already respectable contingent of contributors from Britain. He has published short stories, poetry and non-fiction, mainly in science fiction but also horror and mainstream. His preference runs to drama, with characterization and dialogue his specialties. He recently completed a doctoral dissertation on the role of the wolf in folklore.
Paul’s story in this issue, “Saving Me” would seem to be quite representative. It is set in the England of a few centuries ago, where a highwayman is contacted by another character, Barry, in the future. Trans-temporal contact is a common theme in science fiction. The story’s realism borders on horror, and — who knows? — Barry’s motivation to contact the past may stem from a fascination with folklore...
Paul resides in Brighton, where he heads a writers’ group. Readers are encouraged to visit his website, which we’re sure you’ll agree is very pretty. You can find more information in his biographical sketch.
