So What?

by Jerry Wright

Don asked me to help him out by giving him a heads-up on what I plan on writing about in these little editorials, or perhaps "rants". Sorry. I don't have a clue generally, when I sit down in front of a hot computer, what I'm going to inflict on "youse guys". And I still don't. So instead of actually writing something down, I'm going to give you a couple of links to some people I don't necessarily agree with, but who always have interesting things to say...

First is Fred, of the famous Fred On Everything fame. His guaranteed reprehensible diseased rantings make it clear why he is an expatriate living in Mexico, but of the many things he writes about, I have to agree with him that "free speech" in the good old U.S. of A. doesn't exist anymore. Read and find out why he thinks so.

And also, I enjoy the "daybook" of Jerry Pournelle, located at www.jerrypournelle.com. He is generally considered to be the grandfather, if not the father of "the Blog", since he, as far as anyone can tell, was the first to put up a daily online journal with comments and letters from "the Peanut Gallery".

Jerry's site is a compendium of comments and insights about computers, education, politics, war, and what-have-you. You may not agree with him, but he will make you think.

Do these sites I read on a regular basis explain why I'm the kind of guy I am? Nope, not even close. But you don't pay me enough to psychoanalyze me.

Please send us your ideas!
