Bewildering Stories biography
I am a BIPOC international writer from France. I am 34 years old, male, mixed-race, white (France) and Asian (Laos). My legal name is Alex Thiebaut and English is my second language.
When I was a teenager, I often skipped school to watch movies with the filmmaker Bertrand Tavernier, who taught me a lot about storytelling: patience, discipline and audacity. I tried to break into the French publishing market by writing literary science fiction from 2007 to 2012 but, at the time, there was no interest in my stories and no foreseeable future for my career. That channel was closed, so I took the bull by the horns and moved to the UK to write in English.
After years of learning and mastering the language, I sold my first story in 2020. My stories have appeared or are upcoming in Rune Bear, Altered Reality, 365 Tomorrows and others. I am also a first reader at Cosmic Roots and Eldritch Shores.
