David lives in São Paulo, Brazil and works as an advocate in human-rights cases, such as slave labor. In his spare time, David has been publishing stories “with a speculative edge.”

“Long-Term Effects” is a ghost story in which a revenant who died in the Pandemic questions a judge about a school closing. The judge’s decision may have been right, as far as one could tell under the circumstances, but he ignored the testimony of three witnesses, and that leads to questions.
