Bewildering Stories introduces and welcomes...
Michael J. D’Alfonsi
Michael D’Alfonsi is a native of San Francisco and lives in Brentwood, California. He’s a veteran newspaper reporter and bookstore manager both as an antiquarian and for Barnes & Noble.
“Nobody’s Home” bears out one of Bewildering Stories’ unofficial mottoes, that BwS is not all Halloween but is ready for Halloween all the time. The story recalls vividly the classic 1979 horror film Alien but ramps up the nature of the enemy alien from that of a giant wasp to a ghostlike presence with a sadistic human personality. Yet another motto is borne out: “If space aliens are anything like humans, turn and run.”
