Bewildering Stories introduces and welcomes...
Henrietta Pertuz
Henrietta lives in New York City, where she is a nonprofit social worker and a member of the Association of Writers & Writing Programs. Her short stories and novels are set in contemporary times and explore themes of community, family, love and loss.
“Shoulder Season” will engage readers in the plight of Ash, a columnist for a local newspaper in the Catskill Mountains of New York state. She feels that her work is wasted; that no one reads her reports on local culture. Cale, an online date, is a developer intent on making Ash’s community a haven for the ultra-wealthy. And what is “shoulder season”? Is it a time of year in spring, when plowed snow gradually melts, revealing the shoulders at the edge of roads?
