Wabi Sabi

by Channie Greenberg

Finding beauty in imperfection is grandparenting’s bonus. Silver tresses,
Long years cull perspective. Important matters cling; others recede, fade.

Wisdom recognizes impermanence’s excellence, appreciates simplicity’s
Exquisiteness, salutes candor’s magnificence, suitably senses absorption.

Culminated decades bring no love of tinsel nor brass bands. Rather, fish
Scales become treasured as are gusts’ swish among feral, soaring rushes.

Coins count toward bread and milk, don’t replace the currency of cherished
Others. Titles fall away like cinders, since designations, too, mean nothing.
