Michael Burnett
Bewildering Stories biography
Michael Burnett works as a freelance third-sector bid writer, raising funds for a select set of small charities. He lives with his wife Farhana, and their two rescue cats Jupiter and Juno, in Worcestershire.
Michael has been writing fiction for over a decade and has produced dozens of short stories and poems. He was an active member of the Birmingham Writers’ Group until he moved out of the city in 2018.
In 2020, his debut novel, The Undercurrent, was published by Canada-based Melting Tundra Publishing. His short story “An Island of Water” appeared in the November 2019 issue of Between These Shores literary magazine.
His short stories “Black Widow” and “Aestus” first appeared in East Sussex-based journal The Newhaven Journeyman in 2010 and 2011, respectively; these stories also appear in Chrysalis: A Journey Through the Dark, his self-published anthology of dark surrealist stories, flash and poetry (available only on Amazon). A second novel is in the pipeline.
In his free time, Michael enjoys rock climbing, vegetable gardening, and roaming the countryside on foot and by bike.
