Bewildering Stories biography
I have degrees in English Lit. and I have also have spent time as a writer in high tech, an interim path that has often perplexed me, though I am sure more than one of my characters has origins in that unique world. I’ve published some nonfiction, but the stories have always been there.
I own many books by science fiction writers, including the brilliant discovery of old hardbound anthologies from the fifties by the greats, such as Campbell and Gold and Conklin and Boucher.
I have had short stories published in Subtle Fiction, A Twist of Noir, Halfway Down the Stairs, and Thrice Fiction. I was also a finalist in the 2011 SCRIPTOID Screenwriter’s Feature Challenge.
Places I’ve loved the most and still do include Austin and Llano in Texas, New York City, and the Mojave and Sonoran deserts, with sleepy towns in southern California (there are some) always a first-class memory.
Driving on empty roads in the Southwest is something I think about doing again, reading Rick Bass at stopover diners. That would be heaven.
