I’m a retired secondary school teacher and real estate broker and have enjoyed life on the coast of North Carolina for the past 26 years. I enjoyed writing when I was young, and communication through writing was important in my careers.
Since retirement I’ve made the time to once again write as a creative endeavor. As a member of a local informal writing group and the North Carolina Writers Network, I’ve been working on a memoir to share with my family and also have been exploring poetry, essay, and short fiction. Writing contests and publishers seeking submissions have been avenues for exploration.
I write so I may better understand my life, attitudes, and emotions. But I hope my writing can do the same for someone else.
