Bewildering Stories biography

FAQ answer: my last name rhymes with “skates.” I’m originally from Pennsylvania, now a Marylander. My husband and I live in the Baltimore area and are staff to three cats.

My short fiction has appeared in journals including Atticus Review, Los Angeles Review, and Well Read Magazine, and most recently was longlisted for Wigleaf’s Top 50 2024 Stories.

I’ve always loved to read fantasy and magical realism, but have only recently gotten brave enough to try writing my own. My novel Fourteen Stones, released in June 2024 by Highlander Press, is my first venture into full-length fantasy.

My next novel, Line Magic, is set in Philadelphia in 1945 and features an artist who discovers he can reshape his world by drawing it. Line Magic was shortlisted for the Santa Fe Writers Project’s 2023 literary awards and will be released in 2025 by Highlander Press.
