Ara Hone
Bewildering Stories biography
I write speculative fiction and contemporary literature drawing on my chameleon DNA (okay, my past careers) as a war-fighter, corporate sales manager, and nonprofit novice.
My short fiction appears in Flash Fiction magazine, Silver Blade magazine, and other publications. My mantra is “Keep working on craft,” so, I do. I hold an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University and will complete an MA in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University in January 2020.
I’m actively involved in a critique group with amazing writers; I love them! Who are the authors that rev up my creativity? Philip K. Dick, Ursula Le Guin, Ian McDonald, George R.R. Martin, Patrick O’Brian, Emily St. John Mandel, Nnedi Okorafor, and Pierce Brown, to name a few. I’ll quit while you’re amused. Traveling and TV shows are my hobbies. Who knew such a juxtaposition existed?
I live in Southern California with family and pesky German Shepherds that only want to play, play, play. My website is under reconstruction, but once completed, please visit me at www.arahone.com and on Twitter @ara_hone.
