I remember standing in my back yard, staring up at the moon and wondering why I couldn’t see Apollo 11. As I was barely five years old, I hadn’t quite worked out the vital role that a telescope could play in such an endeavour.

I blame the U.S. space program for my interest in space exploration!

I have been writing down ideas for science fiction for many years, but I only started writing seriously in 2002. No publications prior to this, but lots of nice rejection letters.

I live in Melbourne, Australia, with my wife and our six-year-old son.

No personal website, but I am often sighted posting on the Asimov’s board. I get a lot of inspiration from some of the discussion threads there. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve started to post there, and suddenly thought that my post would make a great short story.

Favourite authors is a bit tougher. I grew up* reading the works of Asimov, Bradbury, Brunner, Clarke, Dick, Heinlein, Silverberg, Tolkien, Vance.

*According to my wife, I have yet to achieve this “growing up” that I claim to have done.
