James Ogunjimi
Bewildering Stories biography
I am a young Nigerian writer with flair for prose and poetry. I am a graduate of Industrial Chemistry from the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-iwoye, Ogun state, Nigeria.
As a student, I was a student activist. I was coordinator of the Committee for the Defense of Human Rights in 2011 and 2013. I was President of the African Liberty Students Organisation (ALSO) in my university. I was a pioneer executive of the Coalition of Left and Progressive Students (CLAPS). I am currently a member of the Amilcar Cabral Ideological School (ACIS) in Lagos, Nigeria.
In 2013, my poem, “Listen to the Whirlwind” was named Poem of the Year by the International Community of Poets (ICOP). In 2015, my poem, “Humanity’s Call” was second runner-up in the February edition of the Brigitte Poirson Poetry Contest.
My writings have appeared in Kalahari Review, Praxis Magazine, Brittle Paper, African Spotlight, African Outlook, Sahara Reporters, The Nation Newspaper, Punch Newspaper.
