Freelance writer, four-time novelist, and professional editor, Lauran Strait also teaches writing and facilitates year-round writers’ workshops at a city sponsored Adult Learning Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She’s the managing editor of columns at Moondance Magazine. She has also edited for NFG and Gator Springs Gazette.
Lauran’s work has appeared in print and on the Internet in publications such as Dog-eared, Gator Springs Gazette, AtomicPetals, Retrozine, Copperfield Review, A Woman of a Certain Age, Moondance Magazine, Monkey Bicycle, Insolent Rudder, LongStoryShort, Edifice Wrecked, The Virginian Pilot, Whistling Shade Literary Review, Somewhat, Green Tricycle, Reading Divas, and The Angler. One of her essays was featured on National Public Radio’s literary show, "Word By Word." She won NFG’s-4th-Great-69er contest. Her stories appear in Random House’s Knitlit the Third — We Spin More Yarns and Better Non Sequiturs See You Next Tuesday.
I’m the founder and president of a 501(c)3 writers’ group called the Hampton Roads Writers.
Were is not for the game Bookworm, the swimming pool, and her propensity toward profound laziness, Lauran probably would write more often.
