Bewildering Stories biography

I am twenty-three years old, of mixed Croatian and Irish decent, born in Sydney, Australia. I graduated from the University of Sydney in 2014 with a Bachelor of Political Economic and Social Sciences, which included an additional major field in Japanese Studies.

I have studied the Japanese language since middle school and a year of my university degree was spent as a Japanese government scholarship student at Keio University in Tokyo. I now live in Kobe, near Osaka, working in international sales and marketing of large energy systems projects, predominantly in the Southeast Asian region.

My interest in literature and writing began at an early age, and I particularly enjoy reading and writing speculative, fantasy and gothic fiction. My favourite authors include Oscar Wilde, George Orwell, Jorge Luis Borges, J.R.R Tolkien, Edgar Allan Poe and Haruki Murakami. More recently I have also developed an interest in historical Japanese novels, particularly those set during the First and Second World War period.

“The Exile and the Urchin” is my first Bewildering Stories submission.
