Scott has enjoyed a career as a journalist for more than forty years, most of it spent as a feature writer for the Arizona Republic, in Phoenix. He has also published Dead Jed: Aventures of a Middle-School Zombie.

“Under New Management” is sure to amuse and appall readers at the same time. By now, almost everyone must have heard that artificial intelligence is going to doom humanity. Technology is finally catching up to what modern science fiction has been saying for almost a century.

But this isn’t War of the Worlds, it’s more contemporary social realism. And yet some readers will say, “Impossible! The oppressed employees would revolt!” Oh, do you really think so? Substitute human beings for the robots in the story and maybe so. But, as it is, the story seems to become less impossible by the year.
