Stephen Tillman

Stephen is an emeritus Professor of Mathematics at Wilkes University. He is a fan of mysteries and science fiction. He has published several stories in those genres as well as two novels.

“Dust Pile” might have been titled “Dust Piles,” but the plural would have given the story away as soon as the first vampire is vanquished. As it stands, a small group of supernatural figures, including a “were-leopard,” come into conflict with three vampires in an isolated setting. The ensuing action goes a long way toward updating the capacities and nature of vampires beyond the conventional clichés of popular literature.
