We can cancel Deep Bora’s “missing person” notice; he seems to be receiving e-mail again, and he promises his latest article in time for the Second Anniversary issue. We’d still be grateful to anyone who can put us in touch with Wallace Cass.

As the Readers’ Guide says, there’s still time to nominate your favorite titles from issues 53-60 for the first Second Anniverary Retrospective list. With issue 104, the list becomes official. The second list will follow in issue 105, with the “hit parade” of titles from issues 61-70.

I’d been thinking that we might add the four “best” from The Reading Room from issues 53-60, but on looking them over, I find the idea quite impractical: all the reviews are informative, and all the books will appeal to at least some of our readers, and to a different group each time. What would be practical is an index to the reviews by authors and titles. That remains one of our Big Projects. Anybody who lends us a hand with it will get prominent and due credit.
