A Kindergarten High

by Olivia Cummings

Boy, what’ve you got there,
Hidden in your desk?
Not payin’ attention in class.
Can’t string your own defence.
Your eyes are spinnin’
From what you’ve been breathin’.
The fumes are not your friend, boy,
Keep them between the papers,
Away from your face,
Away from your brain.
Quit glue-sniffing, boy;
You’ll never make it to first grade.
