Bewildering Stories introduces and welcomes...
Jennifer Thomas
Jennifer lives on the North Shore of Massachusetts and normally engages in science writing. Lately, she has started witing speculative stories and science fiction, to critical applause.
“Distant Ancestors” will amuse readers by its depiction of a mother who wants to establish not only her little Yasmine’s ethnic ancestry but also the girl’s DNA heritage. Maybe common and normal curiosity will turn up something that will explain Yasmine’s strange talent of precognition. Two visitors bring an answer that raises another question, at least for the readers: Does Yasmine’s mother have a genetic connection to her daughter’s paranormal ability? And one will be tempted to ask further: Where might we all have come from in the first place?
