Jo Gatenby
Jo has been writing for a long time but has only recently begun publishing short stories. Thanks to a grandmother, Jo is a member of the Pikwakanagan First Nation in Canada.
“A Small Cloth Heart” will charm readers with its story of a doll that is lost by Amilia, its young owner, in a hansom cab while on the way to a train station. The doll is discovered and returned after many years. The narrative point of view seems carefully appropriate: third person, fully omniscient. We’re allowed to imagine the doll’s virtual life until a relative of Amilia’s accidentally finds her and brings her home.
