The Party’s Over

I see the lights
I see the party lights
They’re red and blue
And green

The party’s over
the light’s are out
it’s been fun
but we’re tired now
Let’s say good-night
it’s time to go
We’ll get our things
and head for home

We did a lot
not everything
we hoped or dreamt
but quite a bit
not bad I’d say
Despite the odds
we found a way
as time slipped by
by and by

We’ll get under the blanket
and put our heads
on the pillow
and get some rest
restore our strength
for the coming day
as yet unknown
Come what may
let’s get some sleep
and then we’ll see
when the sun comes up
