All aboard!
All hands on deck!
Our jolly crew
breaks out in song
as we set sail
across the tub,
through waves and suds
we roll along,
merrily we splash our way
past rubber ducks
and ride the waves.
The first mate clambers
up the ropes,
focuses his telescope
and keeps a sharp eye out
for anything that might possibly
be of concern or raise a doubt.
We enter these uncharted seas
intrepidly, our hearts are stout,
and turn towards distant mist-bound shores
where never man has tread before,
a journey of discovery.
“Land Ho!” the mate calls from above.
A cheer goes up from all on deck
but dead ahead, a sloshing sound
loud, unexpected, ominous.
Who in God’s name pulled the plug?
A whirling vortex, round and round
opens up beneath us now,
sucks us in and drags us down
beneath the surface to the depths,
from life and hope to certain death.
Sound the alarm! Abandon ship!
Try as we may, we can’t avoid
sailing into the gaping maw,
the treacherous and yawning Void.
Sauve qui peut, S.O.S.
The jig is up, there’s no time left,
it’s overboard and do your best.
Maybe we can make the shore
before we drown.
The current’s strong
and drags us down,
we’re sinking fast
and can’t last long.
Cling to the mast
for all you’re worth
and say goodbye to planet Earth.
We set out o’r the bounding main
spirits high, hopes aflame,
and ended circling the drain
never to return again
to loved ones dear, all in vain.
Look out below! Down we go,
here we come, to our new homes
beneath the waves with Davy Jones.
