Matias Travieso-Díaz

Matias immigrated to the U.S. from Cuba as a young man. He has had a career of almost fifty years as an engineer and a lawyer. In retirement, he has a publication record of more than 160 short stories.

“Purple Flower” is a story in the genre of historical fiction and carries a couple of morals. What’s the point of letting an incidental physical handicap stand in the way of love? And what might be the danger of letting politics substitute for love?
