Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Bob Sorensen
Of the four new contributors welcomed in this issue, three work in some aspect of computer technology. From the sound of his bio, his family must be following in his footsteps, using computers at home to the point that we’re lucky to get his story. Maybe I should add a thematic index — or “yellow pages” — to the Biographies & Bibliographies so people can get together and talk shop, commiserate, etc.
Bob has already had some success at writing fiction. That will come as no suprise to anyone who’s read his first story for us, “Call Waiting.” It does not have a happy ending. Rather it echoes poignantly a feeling that Cliff Stoll, the author of The Cuckoo’s Egg, expressed about computers: virtual life doesn’t replace real life.
You can find Bob’s biographical sketch here.
Welcome to Bewildering Stories, Bob. We look forward to hearing from you again soon and often!
