Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Gary West
I’ll have to check, but this welcome very likely holds the all-time record for the most belated. If it doesn’t, it comes close. Gary is a contributor from Year 1 of Bewildering Stories. Five of his poems appeared between issues 12 and 20, well before we had our Biographies & Bibliographies, let alone the official welcome messages.
Now that Gary has come back to us after an apparent hiatus of two hundred and two issues, I’ll see what I can do about converting his original pages to our modern format.
Gary West lives in Colorado and has published very widely, in more than 150 magazines and e-zines.
“Mirrored” is a kind of counterpart to Agnes Blom’s “Anna’s World.” Both poems recount the loss of innocence, but in almost opposite styles. “Mirrored” addresses the reader directly by referring to an almost universal experience, the green and pleasant land of Alice in Wonderland — but it is shattered by violence.
Gary West’s bio sketch can be found here.
Welcome to Bewildering Stories, Gary. We hope to hear from you again soon and often!
