Running On Fumes

If I was "running on empty" last week, then this week, I'm running on fumes. Got the most thrilling experience one can have... Stuck in an airport thousands of miles from home, waiting as the flight is delayed, and delayed and delayed once again... And then cancelled. Thrill. So I rent a car with another stranded traveller, Jay McClelland out of Stanford, also travelling to Lubbock for a seminar.

As a travelling companion, I couldn't have asked for better. Professor Mcclelland is the director of Mind, Brain and Computation (MBC) Area of Focus: Cognitive Neuroscience. And we had a six hour drive from Dallas/Fort Worth in driving rain, followed by snow and icy roads. And great conversation. So even though we ended up in Lubbock at 4 AM, it was worth it, in a conflicted sort of way.

Anyway, I didn't have chance to go home, but instead flew directly to Oregon, where I'm teaching a four-day class in Eugene, just up the road from Roseburg, where I believe euhal allen and his daughter Katherine live. My brother lives just outside of Eugene, in Leaburg, and so I spent Sunday with him and his family.

So what else is new? Things are looking more and more interesting on the Bewildering Press front, and we're trying to figure out how all the pieces fit together. We're still looking for cover art for "Dawgs and Katts", as well as for "Gilboy's Quest". We also discovered it is expensive to make mistakes with POD books, but hey, that is life.

I was thinking I needed to write a book review, but what a pleasant surprise to see THREE!

Well, class comes early, and sleep would be nice right about now. So enjoy our fine stuffed full issue.
