Kyle Hemmings

Kyle works in health care in New Jersey but has finished an MFA degree in creative writing. Among other things, he’s a fan of the original Star Trek series.

“They Don’t Catch Colds in Texas” opens with a setting in a psychiatric hospital, where a patient refers to a “head mistress” as a kind of omen of doom. Later in the story, it becomes apparent why “head mistress” is written as two words rather than one.
