Kaziranga national park is a world-famous wildlife reserve situated in Assam state. People from all countries visit this place, so much that it is booked by foreigners years in advance — during the visiting months, of course. It is closed to visitors during the monsoons, when many portions of the reserve are inundated by floods; animals walk out of the forested areas and roam the surrounding areas and the highway.
Editor’s note: Deep says this photo was taken as close as possible in early morning hours from a safe perch atop an elephant!
