Mr. Bower says he’s also known as “Al,” but since he abbreviates his first name, he’s Frank to us. His bio describes an interesting intellectual journey over the years.

“The Middle-Age Spinal Curve” isn’t a short story in the conventional sense, and Frank has agreed to our classifying it as a fictional memoir. Like his bio, it chronicles a intellectual journey away from judging by appearances.
