Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Dorothy Crossan
Dorothy says that the island of Skyros finally incited her to start writing. That must have been a big push, because she now has an M.A. in Creative Writing, has written some short stories and is now working on a children’s book, among other things.
The plot of “Still Life” resembles somewhat the structure of the film Last Orders, but the premise is the opposite. Rather than men disposing of a friend’s ashes, two sisters and their brother carry to a cliffside the urn of their father, who had been incapable of feeling empathy. The ceremony turns to inadvertent comedy, and a release for them all.
