Reading Blake,
the simple sweet
dulcimer notes
of mad prophecy,
the weeping child’s
vision of angels,
soothing lullaby melodies
in envy, mocked
by the erudite.
Pebbles in puddles
babbling happily,
stroke the harp, Blake!
Under your influence,
subtleties upon subtleties
seem obvious or the opposite
to everybody. Ageless
virgin beauty, issue forth!
