Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Aaron Rowley
Aaron lives in Mississippi and has a degree in Classics with an emphasis in ancient Greek.
“Angel of Mercy” is an ironic title: irony is required in calling an “angel” someone whose self-appointed mission is to kill people he deems better off dead. “Angel of death” would be appropriate, and sure enough, the killer is named Mort, possibly after a character in Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels.
The story is a cautionary tale: Mort fails to live by the principle that anyone eager to kill people would do the rest of us a favor by starting with himself.
