Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Jude Coulter-Pultz
Jude lives in Tokyo, where he teaches English. He’s published elsewhere on the Net and is writing a children’s novel and a non-fiction book on Japanese mythology and folklore. He’s also the editor of the Eight Clouds e-zine.
“A Park Bench on Death Row” is a fable in which an inanmate object — a wooden park bench — shares its thoughts and feelings about its obsolescence and impending replacement by steel benches. The bench takes a philosophical attitude, one mixed with a certain resignation, at cultural and generational change moving away from nature.
