Bewildering Stories welcomes...
G. Alex Harris
Alex cheerfully owns to the name “Gavin” but says he prefers to be called “Alex.” He lives with his family in New Zealand. His bio sketch depicts someone who really enjoys the process of imagining stories, and he has a very good habit: he keeps a notebook where he jots down ideas. I tried that myself, once, but I kept losing the darn thing; Alex keeps his safely in one place.
“The Boy Who Couldn’t Fly” epitomizes Bewildering Stories’ policy about dream stories: the dream must have a connection with an external reality. This story ends tragically but also has a semi-comic resolution in fantasy. All told, that’s an interesting way to handle dream sequences, and the story fits in coincidentally with a theme of this issue that can be found in other stories, such as “To the Meadow’s Edge,” “Beloved Ghosts,” and “Voices in Her Head.”
G. Alex Harris’s bio sketch can be found here.
Welcome to Bewildering Stories, Alex. We hope to hear from you again soon and often!
