Bewildering Stories welcomes...
A. S. Andrews
A.S. takes care of her family whlie indulging her passion for writing.
“Path of the Comforter” tells of a visit to an old family home. The visitor discovers two familiar blankets that remind her of the clothing worn by deceased relatives. Thus, there are two “comforters” in the story; what — or, more likely, who — is the “comforter”?
And what is the setting? Do the saris betoken India or the cherry blossoms, Japan? It hardly seems to matter: the setting could be almost anywhere. The reader may also wonder who the narrator is, and what sequence of events the story recounts. But then, reminiscences can occur in any order; the important thing is love’s bridging of time.
