Zarin Thomson

Zarin lives in the wine country of Stellenbosch, near Cape Town, South Africa. Zarin has produced two cocktail books while working in the restaurant industry. Zarin has also produced several screenplays and albums and a book of poetry.

“A Salient Point” tells a poignant story about a child who accompanies his parents as they flee to another planet to avoid the destruction of their home. The child’s diary is interrupted by weird symbols, the nature of which becomes clear at the end.

The child eventually becomes an adult and a very different person, even a different being entirely. In the megayears of the future, the adult cherishes the child’s diary as its only glimpse into the mind of the person it once was. Can memory really bridge the gap between child and adult or between human being and machine?
