An Unknown Grid

by Dawnell Harrison

The night
Was as new

As a baby's first breath
While the stars

Hung on an unknown
Grid in the illuminated sky.

The bursts of light
Told stories

Of a full, harvest
Moon-driven heaven

As mortals
Lay their worries

Down and ate
Upon an altar of love.
