I carefully approached the omnipotent “Q” (John de Lancie). I shook and stammered as I randomly pointed towards a photo for his autograph. “Does the Q Continuum even use a pen?” I thought. “Or will he simply snap his fingers and burn his mark on paper?” I closed my eyes as he made his imprint and realized that I had not been banished to the Netherworlds.
John de Lancie is a gentle “god” with a soft, measured voice — nothing like his character as a haughty, sarcastic entity who exists to torment poor Capt. Jean-Luc Picard, on Star Trek: the Next Generation, and Capt. Kathryn Janeway, on Star Trek: Voyager.
