Bewildering Stories welcomes...
J. Scott Kunkle
Scott is a native of Tucson, Arizona and is a ten-year veteran of the U.S. Army. He has published several short stories and flash fiction and has submitted the winning entry in a short story contest. He’s written four novels and more than a dozen feature-length film scripts.
“Autumn Passage” will occasion debate about its form: is it a story or a vignette? It recounts the morning — or is it the afternoon or evening? — of a nameless man who is on his way to an appointment. On his way, odd events befall him, each more curious than the last. Finally he has a near-death experience that is far more fascinating to onlookers than the real thing. Franz Kafka and Samuel Beckett might find the account amusing.
