Adam Bruce

Adam has just graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in English and Philosophy. He’s worked with one of our Associate Editors, Cheryl Ruggiero.

“Wake Up, Joe” depicts a familiarly dystopian world in which Joe leads a dull, regimented life in which every decision is made for him. A man and a woman suddenly intrude on his routine. Joe shall henceforth be free to enjoy a colorful world in which he makes his own decisions. The good intentions have a fatal flaw: what is freedom if Joe is not free to choose it?
