Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Doug Draime
Doug lives with his family in the foothills of Oregon. He’s been publishing poems, short stories and plays since the late 1960’s.
“Letter From an Old Flame” portrays a scene from life in a traditional society of rustic America. It’s done with very dark comedy, especially when the recipient of the jaw-droppingly bad news has to say in effect that he’s moved beyond the pale, thank you just the same.
The opening image “The moments dripped like frozen sap / down rusty pipes” is bound to grab the readers’ attention and alert them that for the narrator time has not only stopped, it’s become corroded.
Doug Draime’s bio sketch can be found here.
Welcome to Bewildering Stories, Doug. We hope to hear from you again soon and often!
