Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Romney S. Humphrey
Romney has had considerable success in writing scripts for television and theater. One of his TV pilots has won the National Parents’ Choice award.
“The Northwest Corner Pool” could hardly be made into a play for screen, stage or radio. Rather, it does what prose does best: bring the reader into the minds of the characters. The hero, Sammy Casper, is not a very likeable character, not at first; he’s self-important and bossy. But he does his neighbors an important favor by preserving the tranquillity of their tightly knit society. By the end of the story, the reader can at least come to understand Sammy and appreciate the respect he deserves.
