Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Yuliya Klochan
Yuliya moved with her family to the U.S. from the Ukraine three years ago. Her profession deals extensively with mathematics but writing is a major hobby among several.
“The Definition of Perfection” falls into the subgenre of the “kitchen sink” revenge fantasy. A woman murders her husband for faults that are real or imaginary and that range from serious to trivial. Your editors receive submissions in this subgenre with almost clockwork regularity.
“The Definition of Perfection” stands the genre neatly on its head. What if the husband were everything his wife could possibly want? What if he always agreed with her? What if he always did everything she said and never snored? What if he were as perfect as an android? Unless the wife is a jet-propelled narcissist, the consequences are predictable. Perfection may not what one thinks it is.
