Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Adam C. Richardson
Adam lives with his family in “the outback” of Minnesota and works as a software engineer.
“Happy Planet” concludes in issue 558 but is complete on line as of this issue.
The hero, Daniel Blight, is a rock singer afflicted with a kind of obsessive-compulsive disorder. He repeats a chilling and yet thought-provoking refrain: “Stand and face the beating fists! Pain is proof that God exists.”
And yet the story’s premise is taken from the world of euphoric drugs. What if a drug could make any user feel happy, content, satisfied... and complacent? What relief would it provide to the emotionally disturbed, and what opportunities might it offer to the unscrupulous?

Welcome to Bewildering Stories, Adam. We hope to hear from you again soon and often!
